Day 3 – Houston, we have a problem.

I started today with a plan. I wanted to focus on shapes and using the tablet more than just drawing because I know right now, I am struggling with both. I decided to give a couple other pieces of software a shot to see how they perform just because a lot of people mentioned they were better performing, more stable, and easier to learn… So I decided to grab Krita and Clip Studio Paint.

Windows did not seem to like that because something caused it to completely mess up my Wacom settings and made my entire day an absolute nightmare of trying to figure out, why exactly, it kept lagging, changing my hotkeys, and setting my pencil color to white every time I drew a circle.

Ultimately, I decided to go back to Painter because it just worked, the tablet seems to like it better, and it didn’t fight me every step of the way. After all that, I mostly just drew circles to try and get them to connect more consistently. I feel like I have improved a fair bit with my consistency.

They certainly aren’t perfect, but they aren’t overlapping nearly as much, and the pen is feeling much more natural. This should make drawing the profiles a lot easier. Tomorrow I am going to focus on the male and female side profiles again and possibly attempt a forward facing one.
